לזכות רפואה שלמה לשרה פערל בת אלישבע The Timing of Reward From the final words of Vaeschanan There is so much to learn, About the precious mitzvah reward That every Jew will earn. "Today" is when we do the mitzvos— Each mitzvah is a gem. "Tomorrow" in Olam Haba, We'll take the reward for them! Hashem treats the wicked and righteous In a very different way. The wicked get rewarded in this world, Without delay. So they won't receive reward again In Olam Haba one day. For every good deed they once performed, They are paid in this world today. For the righteous there are three gifts That Hashem gives with care. Let's open them one by one And see what's waiting there! 🎁 Gift Number One The first is special blessings To help us do our share. Healthy children, health, and livelihood Are gifts beyond compare. They are the tools we need to fulfill Each mitzvah, one by one. Helping us carry out Hashem's will Until our work is done. 🎁 Gift Number Two Sec...

On Shabbos Chazon, before Tisha B'Av, our Mazal gets to see, The future Beis Hamikdash Hashlishi. Through a parable, Reb Levi Yitzchok of Barditchev explains beautifully, How seeing the Beis Hamikdash can help us bring Moshiach speedily. A loving father had a son so dear, And sewed a precious garment for him to wear. The child tore it, so his father lovingly made one more, But sadly, that second garment also tore. His father stitched a third one and showed it now and then, "Behave well, and it will be yours," he lovingly reminded him again and again. Why did the Barditchever choose a garment? Here's the key: It's tailor-made to fit you perfectly! Why does a flower bloom? Why does a bird fly free? Why is every person different—even you and me? Hashem gives each creation its own special spark from above, Hidden from our eyes, like a hand inside a glove. Each part of the Beis Hamikdash had its own special size, The different measurements made the Yidden realize,...

After 40 years in the desert sand, It was finally time to enter the promised land. Every tribe was meant to get a portion that for them was best, However the tribes of Reuven and Gad had a different request. On the other side of the Jordan River, they asked for their portion to be, Because for all their cattle that is where the grass grew plentifully. Although Moshe was unhappy he did give them permission, To the tribes of Reuven, Gad and half of Menashe, this land was given. When Moshiach comes the borders of Eretz Yisrael Hashem will expand, Reuven, Gad and half of Menashe's portion will be part of our holy land. Since everything in Yidishkeit happens through Moshe's hand, As a taste of Moshiach, to a tribe, Moshe had to give this land. With Reuven and Gad alone, it wouldn't suffice, Because they put their cattle first that day so their request wasn't nice. Menashe was chosen because Eretz Yisrael was to them so dear, Even Tzelafchad's daughters from Menashe ask...

Chelek 33, Pinchas 1

If you see Pinchas in your dream, the Gemara does say, A wonder will come your way. Rashi explains that the wonder will come,  Because for Pinchas, this was done. However, when we look into the story, we see, When Pinchas acted in a zealous way, the miracles were many. If for Pinchas many miracles did come, Then why does the dreamer just get one? Why does the Gemara say wonder instead of miracle here? Let's break it down and make it clear. A miracle is when nature takes a pause, Something unusual, beyond its laws. But a wonder is when Hashem operates from a level that is higher, There is no need to keep breaking nature, Because in the new way of operating, Miracles are a natural thing. For Pinchas, Hashem didn't just give miracles or wonders, one, two or three, But rather, Hashem acted in a state of wonder continuously. One who dreams about Pinchas will also get to be in a state of wonder, A state of wonder is greater than many wonders we discover. Pinchas merited to be treated...

When a person is saved from a dangerous situation, Like crossing the ocean or desert, surviving an illness or prison, To express gratitude to Hashem it is only right, The Brocha of Hagomel he does recite. “Who bestows kindness on the culpable, And has bestowed kindness on me”, This implies that he has found fault in himself and feels guilty. For being in a dangerous prison, how can the Frierdiker Rebbe have felt blame, If Mesiras Nefesh to save Yidishkeit in Russia was his only aim? To answer this question, A Mashal is given, Of a person who is working outside of the palace to fulfill the orders of the king, He is busy running around getting everything. But when he comes into the palace and stands before the king, He must stand at attention and can't be distracted by anything. If he winks at someone or texts someone an emoji on his phone, His service is lacking because closer to the king he has grown. When Hashem sees a Tzadik or Tzadeikis who on their level have reached perfecti...

Chelek 28, Korach 2

In Korach's Torah portion, Hashem gave priesthood to Aharon and his children. The Sifrei, Gemarah and the Rambam too, Discuss three crowns and who they belong to. The crown of priesthood belongs to Aharon's family alone, The crown of kingship belongs to Dovid's throne, But the crown of Torah belongs to every Jew, A precious inheritance for me and you. The Sifrei and Gemara teach this view, Yet bring no pesukim to prove it's true. The Rambam brings a source for each crown, Why in a book of law does he write them all down? The source for the Rambam is based on Avos D’Rebbi Nosson, it's true, But there are differences here too. Two of the Rambam's proofs are not the same, By choosing different proofs what does he gain?  Avos D'Rebbi Nosson says that crowns of priesthood and kingship can't be won, Even if one were to give all the gold and silver under the sun. The Rambam sees it in a positive light, Describing how these crowns were actively secured tight. An...

What was the spiritual status of the Meraglim When they went on their mission? Were they as righteous as could be, Or from the beginning was there a reason for Moshe to worry? When we look at Rashi's explanation, We see a contradiction. On the words “All of them were men of distinction,” Rashi does say, “At that hour they were righteous,” in every way. However on the words, “And Moshe called Hoshea the son of Nun, Yehoshua,” Rashi says, that on Yehoshua's behalf, Moshe said a Tefillah. “May Hashem save you from the counsel of the spies.” so that you shouldn't stray, This implies that Moshe sensed the wickedness of the spies right away. This is stated clearly, In Rashi's later commentary, On the words “They went and they came,” With evil intentions, their going and coming was the same. To resolve the contradiction, The commentaries give an explanation. At the hour that they were chosen they were as righteous as could be, But they became wicked as soon as they set out on ...
