Chelek 33, Behaalosecha 1

If a person wasn't able to bring the Korban Pesach on time unfortunately,
The Torah established a make-up offering on Pesach Sheini.
All other makeups follow right away,
For Pesach Sheini why is there an entire month of delay?

The whole reason that Pesach Sheini came about,
Was because Mishael and Eltzafan didn't want to be left out.
They became impure because their brothers they did bury,
The eve of Pesach was the last day of their impurity.

Why couldn't they have the opportunity,
To make up their offering immediately,
On the very next day,
Or anytime during the Peasch holiday?

According to Pnimiyus HaTorah this question,
Is the foundation for the Tzemach Tzedek's explanation,
That Pesach Sheini is tied inherently,
To the spiritual theme of the month of Iyar specifically.

In the month of Nissan the Divine service that is primary,
Is to “turn away from evil” and flee Egypt's impurity,
To break the grip of what enslaves,
And leave behind destructive ways.

In the month of Iyar the second level we attain,
To “do good” is our aim.
We count Sefiras Haomer daily,
And we refine our attributes to make them holy.

The first Pesach represents Iskafya - suppressing the evil within,
For Chametz to be seen or found is forbidden,
Because Chametz symbolizes the evil inclination,
Which requires eradication.

Pesach Sheini represents Is'hapcha - transformation,
We can have Chametz in the house just with the sacrifice it can't be eaten.
For Shavuos it is a preparation,
When to bring two loaves of Chametz is a Mitzvah obligation.

Seemingly there is a contradiction,
Between the Halacha and the Tzemach Tzedek's explanation.
According to the Tzemach Tzedek the first Pesach is necessary,
In order to reach the level of Pesach Sheini.

But according to Halacha, Pesach Sheini applies exclusively,
To someone who didn't have the ability to bring the Korban Pesach with everybody,
And if on the first Pesach someone already fulfilled their obligation,
To bring a second sacrifice on Pesach Sheini for him is forbidden!

There is a difference it is true,
Between the sacrifice and the rest of the Mitzvos that on Pesach we do.
If a person couldn't bring the Passover sacrifice at the time that was right,
He could still eat Matza and make sure that no Chametz was in sight.

In conclusion, for every Jew,
Pesach Sheini is level two.
Once a sacrifice is brought on the first Pesach to bring it again there is no reason,
The Korban activates both levels of service for the entire season.

The word קרבן does share,
The root of קירוב which means to draw near.
Through bringing a sacrifice on the altar,
To Hashem the person draws closer.

The concept of bringing a Korban spiritually,
Is to sacrifice the animal that is found internally.
The person must refine his animal soul until it is worthy,
Of being offered and consumed by the fire so heavenly.

Someone who didn't bring the Korban at the first opportunity,
Must bring his Korban on Pesach Sheini,
Because the Korban is the key not only to rectify the deficiency,
But the Korban adds the ability to transform evil totally.

What is the reason,
For why even nowadays Pesach Sheini is established for all Yidden?
Tachanun we don't say,
And we eat Matza on this day.

There is an opinion that Pesach Sheini isn't just make up time,
But rather it is an independent holiday so fine.
Therefore if between the 1st and 2nd Pesach someone converted or had a Bar Mitzvah,
They would have the opportunity to bring a sacrifice, says Halacha.

But since we don't have the Beis Hamikdash currently,
What value is there to Pesach Sheini?
Especially since Pesach Sheini was given to individuals exclusively,
And not to the whole community.

It is true that according to Rabbi Yehuda there is a possibility,
That if Moshiach would come between the first Pesach and Pesach Sheini,
Then the Korban Pesach would be brought by everybody,
So it would become a holiday for the entire Jewish community.

However the reason that Pesach Sheini we celebrate,
Is not because of the future so great,
But rather it is the past that we commemorate,
We were given the ability to be elevated to the second level of service on this date.

For every Jew, Pesach Sheini unlocks the power,
To transform themselves and the world at every hour.
May we merit the coming of Moshiach speedily,
When all evil will be transformed to good permanently!
